Sheetala Sapthami is observed on the seventh day of Krishna Paksha of Phalguna month which corresponds to 8th March in 2018. Sheetala Ashtami is observed on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha of Phalguna month which corresponds to 9th March in 2018. This festival is meant to signify the onset of summer, and is known as Basoda in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
