Ram Navami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Rama. It is believed that Sri Ramachandra was born on this day at Ayodhya to King Dasharatha and his first wife Queen Kausalya of the Raghuvansha (Raghu Dynasty). It is observed on the Navami (ninth day) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) of the Chaitra month, and also marks the end of the Chaitra Navarathri. It will be observed on 25th March in 2018.
