Papamochani Ekadashi usually falls on Ekadashi (eleventh day) during the month of Phalguna. This year it will be observed on 13th March 2018. This is also the last Ekadashi of the Hindu Calender. On this day, devotees worship Lord Vishnu. The significance of observing a Vrat on Papamochani Ekadashi has been explained in the Bhavishyottara Purana and the Harivasar. It was first narrated by Sage Lomasa to King Mandhata and then by Lord Krishna to the Pandava King Yudhisthira. It is believed that observance of this Vrat destroys all sins of the devotee and absolves the devotee of all guilt, and also that the devotee will never be influenced by ghosts and demons.
